I’m running for the President role so that I can lead our efforts to make the Haverford Hawks program the best in the Delaware Valley.
I believe in transparency and realize that open communication amongst the board and the parents is key to the success of this organization, as everyone deserves to be heard and everyone’s opinion matters. In my previous roles as Vice President of the Hawks, Finland Exchange Chair, Hawks Coach, hockey referee (28 years!), and former player, I have seen the impact that a strong program can have on both players and the community. Both my daughter and my son came up through the Hawks program starting at the squirt level and I’m proud to say are still playing hockey today, although my daughter had to move to a girls program with the Jr. Flyers, my son continues to play for the Hawks on the 16 U AA team.
In addition to my current role with the Hawks as co-manager of the 16U AA team and helping the chairs of the Finland Exchange, I also currently serve on the Board of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Board of the Executive Fire Officers Association of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and until recently previously served on the Skatium Ice Rink Advisory Board. I was appointed by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the Pennsylvania State SR 6 Commission, and I continue to work with this commission to bring about positive change to Pennsylvania’s Fire Service. I currently serve as the Chief Fire Officer of the Lower Merion Township Fire Department and proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps.
Candidate - Frank Heller
My son Laim is currently on the Pee Wee AA team and has been a Hawk for the past six seasons, started in the Mite program. For the past eight years I have served on two boards in various positions, everything from Vice President to Treasury. I currently serve as Vice President of hockey operations for the Haverford Ice Hockey Club (school district). I’m self-employed and have been in business for eighteen years. I will use the same business concepts and techniques that I have learned over the years to help the Hawks organization moving forward. Input from the members of the club will be imperative for our success. Thank you Frank Heller.

Greetings Hawk's Families,
I'm a life long resident of Haverford Township with twin boys ( Jake and Deegan ) who are currently playing on the Mite Black A team where they are learning life lessons, having fun and making lots of friends. I have a long history and love for this game, as a player, coach, and presently a proud elected board member of the Haverford Fords Ice Hockey Club. I believe I would be an outstanding Hawks President for the simple reasons that I'm available, approachable, dedicated, and that I will always do what is in the best interests of the club. The mission for a successful hockey club is to provide the best coaches, place players/teams properly and develop our children into the best people possible. If elected, I would focus on growing our culture to make it more of a Hawks community where families can get to know one another with increased communication and transparency between the board and our parents.
Thank you for your consideration.
Candidate - Liz Coll
I currently hold the position of secretary, which I took over in September. In that time I have worked on increasing our social media presence, encouraged transparency of the board for families in the organization and helped with increasing publicity of our program. I have been a part of the Hawks since 2013. My son started in the Atoms program and is currently a second year squirt. I am a proud member of the Hawks and I am excited at the opportunity to continue in this role and add to the Hawks success.

My name is Kortney and my family has been a part of the awesome extended Haverford Hawks family for 3 seasons. As a hockey mom, I understand the time and commitment travel hockey entails and therefore the importance of being a part of more than just a team, a club but rather as I mentioned it is being a part of a family. The relationships founded in this amazing sport go well beyond the ice to last a lifetime and it is important to me that we recognize the impact this club can have on our players' lives. Professionally, I serve in the U.S. Army as a Senior Human Resources Non-commissioned officer based in Philadelphia. It would be an honor to serve you as the Secretary of Haverford Hawks Board. Please feel free to call me with any questions at 717-903-0057.
I look forward to working with you all!

A hockey parent at heart, I have spent countless hours at rinks, replaced more sticks than I care to remember and witnessed the evolution of the Hawks. As the parent of both Bantam and U16 players, it would be a privilege to serve as secretary of the club and help guide its future. My dedication to the club and its players has been demonstrated by serving as manager of several teams and playing an integral role in planning and fundraising for the Finland Exchange. As Hawks secretary, I would draw upon the skills I use in my position as the Director of Marketing at one of Philadelphia’s largest law firms to enhance club communications, further build the Hawks community through information-sharing within the club, and use different platforms to communicate to our families and share news with the larger community. It would be an honor and a privilege to contribute to the Hawks future.

The trait of a good leader is to be inclusive and motivate everyone to into a shared vision while creating great memories along the way, hopefully allowing many to relive their shared experience at the 50th anniversary milestone in less than five short years.
I am the proud father of a mite player who is second generation Hawk. I am a certified coach and heavily involved in USA Hockey as an Official for about 25 years, I’ve officiated all levels of youth hockey in throughout the US and even in Europe! Over which time, I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly of youth hockey and deeply believe in the ADM (American Development Model) for the development, fun and safety of youth players and the strives that have been taken already to make long-lasting memories.
I also currently serve as the head of the skatium advisory board where we have made vast improvements to internal programs and securing township funding to improve the infrastructure and the overall appearance of our ice rink.
We have an obligation to grow the passion within our organization and the game of hockey that we all love while keeping committed to constantly improving.
